What are your four must have pedals? That is what we ask our guests to share with you in our Four On the Floor podcast segment. Pretty fun right! If they are a pedal builder they cannot name their own pedals of course (sorry!).
Our own Jared Brandon, Knob extraordinaire and founder of Brandonwound Pickups makes some of the best-sounding pickups your ears will ever hear. He handcrafts them himself right here in Ohio. If you are not familiar with
1. Grindstone Audio – Reveal Boost
“This is a 28 dB boost pedal that just opens everything up. Call me strange or weird but I like the nice thick construction of a pedal. I want the durability. I don’t care what it looks like. You can have a picture of a banana or a tube of toothpaste on it or whatever I don’t care. It has to work good and function well and I need to identify it from my other pedals. I love this pedal. They are very will put together and co-created by a well known touring guitar tech so he knows what is required to get through a tour. It’s a boost of boostness. It also has a momentary boost function. Best of all it has one GIANT KNOB!” Check out the Grindstone Audio Reveal Boost
2. Yamaha – CH-10M2 Stereo Chorus
“I’ve had the pedal all my life and it is very sentimental to me. My Dad bought this 30 or so years ago. It has a super-rugged enclosure, all metal. The knobs area is recessed, with a second output on the top which makes this really unique looking. Simple controls, just speed, and depth. Aside from the standard out on the side, the second output allows you to plug this into a separate amp and run stereo. I use it to enhance my tone and like to turn the depth up and the speed down and keep it always on, It’s heaven to me. My Dad didn’t have all the good stuff back in the day, but this was special. I love this pedal. ” Check out the Yamaha – CH-10M2 Stereo Chorus
3. Morley – Power Wah Volume
“This pedal uses optics for a smoother sounding effect and is not noisy at all. its got a boost on the wah via a knob on the sided and is only useable when the wah is on. I never really use the boost. you can use this for a fixed wah too if you want but I mostly use it for volume.” Check out the Morley – Power Wah Volume
4. Electro Harmonix – Holy Grail Reverb
“I love this thing. It’s an old original huge one made in the USA and has three functions which are Spring, Room and Flurb. The reverb still sounds great and is a sound I have come to know well. The Flurb is pretty cool actually, it’s weird. Hard to explain though, its “Flurbby”!” Check out the Electro Harmonix – Holy Grail Reverb
