What are your four must have pedals? That is what we ask our guests to share with you in our Four On the Floor podcast segment.
Self proclaimed “Fuzzaholic” Sean Wright made a big noise on the pedal scene..literally…with his “gain-shaping” Canaglia drive pedal famously using figured maple as the casing. If you are not familiar with Lollygagger FX do yourself a favor and
1. Dunlop – Cry Baby 535Q Multi‑Wah Pedal
“It’s a great pedal. There are lots of Wahs out there that only do one thing. I wanted the ability to be flexible with the wah. This is a very flexible one with a Q control which adjusts the mid point. Sometimes your wah hits that peak fast or sometimes it has a nice sweep. The Q control adjusts that. It also has the boost in it too. I always have it on my boards. It has an adjustable cap to make it bright if you want.” Check out the Dunlop – Cry Baby 535Q Multi‑Wah Pedal
2. Pelican Noiseworks – Pelitaur Fuzz
“When you first look at this pedal you think “Klon clone!” because it looks like the Klon. but this is nothing like the Klon. This is a fuzz. Basically, it’s a Big Muff and a JFET type fuzz. You have gain, treble, and output. Gain is basically a switch between the other fuzzes, so it doesn’t act like a gain at all, just made to look like what it’s not! the treble does adjust the treble–BUT–if you have it on the muff style side selected it acts like a treble cut when you turn it to the right. if you have it set to the JFET side, you get more treble.
On the inside, there are two adjustable gain pots as well. It’s an awesome fuzz.” Check out the Pelican Noiseworks – Pelitaur Fuzz
3. StoneFly Effects – Grizzly Fuzz
“Marc-Eric Gagnon is making incredible 1:1 copies of some of the best and rarest fuzzes ever. The Grizzly Fuzz is an exact copy of the Burns Buzzaround Fuzz. This thing is a monster. I love it. I could probably just have this fuzz on my board and be happy…but I’m a fuzzaholic. Check out the StoneFly Effects – Grizzly Fuzz
4. Andy Green Pedals – Hizz Fuzz
“This is his interpretation of a fuzz face but it has germanium transistors in it. The circuit is tweaked so that you don’t get all that nastiness with a typical germanium fuzz where if the circuit is too hot its flubs, if it’s too cold it sounds icy. His circuit keeps the sound very consistent, so you get the wonderful things about germanium without the drawbacks. it is a killer fuzz.” Check out the Andy Green Pedals – Hizz Fuzz
