Four On The Floor is our new podcast segment in which we ask our guests to name their four must have pedals excluding tuners. Pretty fun right! If they are a pedal builder they cannot name their own pedals of course (sorry!).
Luis Munoz has a great backstory on how he got started as a guitar tech. He also has some great picks for his four must have pedals! looks like he loves mini pedals as much as we do. We were grateful to have spend time talking guitars and pedal with Luis. You can hear for yourself right here listen to with your own ears right here. Check out The Modern Guitar Tech’s choices for his Four On The Floor.
1. Xotic Effects – EP Booster
“I have a thing for Xotic Effects pedals, they are a great company but I have no affiliation with them. Customer service is a big thing with me. It’s the first pedal in my chain and it just warms up my signal and I always have it on. I have even considered putting another one at the end of my pedal chain before it goes to the amp just to see if it would make it even warmer…if thats even possible! Real estate is vital on my board so I love that these are the mini pedal size. Its sexy!.” Check out the Xotic Effects EP Booster
2. Xotic Effects – SP Compressor
“I love the hi-lo-mid switch on this pedal. Without messing with the knobs during play I can flip that switch and get a great compression sound. And again it’s a mini size pedal so its great for pedal board real estate. I used to play in a funky pop band so this would come in really handy when I used my Strat or my Echo Park. And again, it’s sexy!” Check out the Xotic Effects SP Compressor
3. Fulltone – OCD Obsessive Compulsive Drive Pedal
“This has never left my board and never will. It’s really versatile and will make any tube amp sound great. There are loads of people that have a difficult time playing if they don’t have their personal guitar rig, but this allows me to play on any amp set up if I need to and sound great.” Check out the Fulltone OCD Obsessive Compulsive Drive Pedal
4. Earthquaker Devices – Ghost Echo
“I have been using it on my board and now its just always turned on. It’s kind of like using reverb but these has strange subtle nuances that are great additions to my tone.” Check out the Earthquaker Devices Ghost Echo
