What are your four ‘must-have’ pedals? That is what we ask our guests to share with you in our Four On the Floor podcast segment.
Chad Jennings makes some very tastefully designed guitars. He is also not afraid of reverb as you will see. If you are not familiar with Jennings guitars do yourself a favor and check him out. He gave us a fantastic interview too! You can hear the episode for yourself right here. Check out Chad’s choices for his Four On The Floor.
1. Matthews Effects – The Surgeon Delay
“It’s a bit complex and a bit overwhelming but the ambient tones you get out of it are insane. The Knobs are Dose, Pulse, Rain, and Mutation so good luck translating that – but it is all on his website. I am a simple straightforward type of player, but, I find that some of the overlapping delays this pedal is great for little effects. If I am playing clean, the delay is always on.”

2. Matthews Effects – Cosmonaut Reverb
“I like the combination of the Surgeon and the Cosmonaut. Very ambient and overlappy with all sorts of crazy modulation in it which helps bring out shimmer and dimension in my playing.”

3. JHS_ Spring Tank Reverb
” Yes, I do love reverb, and I leave this one on all the time. It has reverb stacking and double foot switches so you can switch between two different reverb settings within the pedal which is really cool. I love it for the treble knob that is on it. It really adds a lot to the guitar and amps tone. Every time I click the pedal off I say “wait where did my tone go!?” It is a tone box, and I just let it run.”

4. JHS – Morning Glory Overdrive
“It is a great lighter overdrive that I use to boss my tube amp a bit and as a tone box. I love playing with the dynamics of an overdriven amp and the Morning Glory has the ability to push the amp in ways that the amp is not equipped to do on its own.”
