What are your four ‘must-have’ pedals? That is what we ask our guests to share with you in our Four On the Floor podcast segment. Jer makes some of the tastiest amplifiers and utility gear around and all by his own hand. If you are not familiar with De Lisle Guitar Co. do yourself a favor and check them out. He gave us a fantastic interview too! You can hear the episode for yourself right here. Check out these choices for his Four On The Floor.
1.
Dunlop – Mini Volume
“I put that behind the dirt pedals which gives me the option of swelling in with an overdriven signal or using the volume knob to hit the drives and kind of bring up the overdrive itself. I have a very small pedalboard. It fit on the bottom half of it, so I didn’t have to take up to two big spots for it. I put that on a loop pedal, so it’ll let me do, uh, both functions as an expression pedal or a volume pedal.“

2. Fulltone – Full-drive 2 Overdrive
“I was a really big fan of actually still am of Rich Robinson’s tone, from The Black Crowes. I read somewhere that he used a Full-Drive 2 overdrive. So when I’m able, I borrow that from a friend and stick that on my board. And it is one that was modified by JHS. It’s just a really cool sounding overdrive. I’ve tried the other versions of the Fulltone Overdrive and I just tend to gravitate towards that one for whatever reason. It’s a pretty solid pedal.”

3. TC Electronic – Nova Delay
“When I play out, the songs I’m playing are tied together with a click-track and sometimes there are only two or three seconds before songs. So with the Nova, I was able to get in there and modify the preset button. Then a little external pedal that would allow me to tap on it and scroll the presets. So when I know the setlist, I can go in beforehand, programming the beats per minute then I’d just be able to scroll in between songs without having to try and start a song and tap in, so it was just a really simple solution for me. It doesn’t take up a lot of space and it allowed me to jump right into the song cause I hate trying to tap in, especially if I’m playing something that’s, you know, beyond my ability—which is a lot.”

4. TC Electronic – Hall Of Fame Reverb
“I love that it has got the stereo outs so you can go to two different amps, which is what we do. It’s nothing extremely fancy— for me at least. I don’t use it for anything other than just the sound that I like and the stereo outs into two different amps. So I’ve got the Nova Delay going stereo into the Hall Of Fame and then the Hall Of Fame going stereo out into the two amps. It can give you a Pink Floyd type sound if you want.“
