What are your four ‘must-have’ pedals? That is what we ask our guests to share with you in our Four On the Floor podcast segment. If anyone knows pedal it is Mike. He’s been posting pedals every day for four years on Instagram. If you are not familiar with Pedal Of The Day do yourself a favor and check them out. He gave us a fantastic interview too! You can hear the episode for yourself right here. Check out these choices for his Four On The Floor.
1. Ceriatone Amplification – Centura Overdrive
“Ceriatone is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They make a clone of a Klon and it is apparently the clone to get the world over. It comes in a housing that looks exactly like the original, the circuitry is super dialed in, you know, painstakingly. Uh, we run a thing on our YouTube channel called the clone Wars, a little plug there to go check that out. Um, on almost a weekly basis, we pair two clones against each other and see how they sound. The Centura has been a big hit over there. It’s a fantastic model.“

2. Collision Devices – Black Hole Symmetry Delay/Reverb/Fuzz
“Collision Devices is located in France. This is a wild, wild pedal. The delay and the reverb are, are just super out there, but in a really great way. And then there’s a giant knob in the middle for you to kick on fuzz that is just blistering. And so the range of tones you can get from that pedal is it’s pretty incredible. It has three different foot-switches, so it’s maybe six inches across. It’s not huge, but it’s, and there’s lots of dials and lots of fun to be had.”

3. Strymon – Flint Tremolo/Reverb
“The old trusty standby. Tremolo reverb combination, really hard to beat that the different modes for each of those sides are. I mean, they just sound great. They sound like those old tube amps. You can do anything with it—surf rock, ambient stuff, whatever.”

4. Boss – DM-3 Delay
“I’ve had this for probably, I don’t know, 17 years. Now I know that the DM-2 is the more revered of the vintage boss delays, but there’s just something about the DM-3 that I fell in love with a long time ago. And haven’t had any desire to get rid of it. So it’s sentimental and it also sounds fantastic. You know, it just adds a little bit. The max delay times only 300 milliseconds I think, but it just adds a nice presence to any rig and just kind of beefs up your tone in it, just a gorgeous way.”
